With my lab time expired, I won’t be able to work on the PWK labs anymore, but there are still tons of resources for me to keep practicing. My exam is scheduled for December 10th, so it is coming up very soon. After reading other people’s blogs, it seems that the best way to prepare without lab access is to just work on VM’s from vulnhub or doing hackthebox. Also, it seems that there is more or less guaranteed to be a buffer-overflow machine on the exam, so I am going to make sure I am ready for that. In addition to more practice, there are a lot of fine-print rules (using metasploit, meterpreter, etc), so I am going to spend some time reviewing that. I also set up a fresh VM ready with recon scripts for the exam. I couldn’t really say how I feel about the exam at this moment. Overall, I feel confident with the process, so the major issue is just time management for me.
